Here are some examples of context in which they join and of problems which these tools answer:
French Army
Context :
- Determine the storage place and the circuits to provide spare parts to regiments
Problem :
- Plan the need in spare parts according to the various cases of equipment use
- Plan the frequency of the equipment use and the emergency degree of spare parts supply (300 scenarios of use and 5 degrees of emergencies)
Producer of fruits and vegetables
Context :
- Supply of fresh products in pulled flows since Morocco to the German market.
- Anticipate the demand to use a longer but less expensive logistic road.
Problem :
- Look for a method of calculation to forecast the needs for seven days
Mass-market retailing
Context :
- After the change of his logistic network, the customer wishes to have an easy-to-use tool which allows the buyers to re-negotiate at best the new prices with the suppliers.
Problem :
- The deliveries are franco. It is thus necessary to estimate the cost of transport of the suppliers in the former logistic network as well as in the new.
- A detailed analysis is necessary to supply arguments to the buyers for the negotiation.
Industrialist, Care products to the person
Context :
- Our customer has to face the changes of logistic organization of the big French distributors which imply a reduction of the stocks of the distributors while improving the availability in shelf space.
Problem :
- Model the distribution through the various channels in order to measure the impact of the different demands of the distributors and so to define one or several scenarios of distribution coherent with the activity of our customer.
